Two or four pages per sheet
A 200 page document prints on 50 sheets at four per side. Useful for reading copies, handouts and anything you need on paper but not at full size.
Result
How small does the text get?
Two pages on a sheet puts each at roughly 70% of its original linear size, which almost everyone can still read comfortably. Four pages puts each at about 50%, which is fine for a document set in 11 or 12 point and hard work below that. Six is for reference copies you will skim rather than read.
Pages are embedded whole, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and vector graphics stay sharp. Your printer's own driver may offer the same feature; doing it here means the file itself is arranged that way, so it prints identically from any machine and can be shared as is.
Common questions
Will this make the file smaller?
No, and it is not meant to. All the original content is still there, just arranged differently. For a smaller file use compress PDF.
Can I make a folded booklet?
Not with this. Booklet imposition needs pages reordered so they land correctly when the stack is folded, which is a different calculation.
